How to Succeed in Evil is not a self-help page for the maladjusted. It it is the story of Edwin Windsor, Evil Efficiency Consultant. He's like Arthur Anderson for Supervillians.
Excelsior… He’s a typical muscle headed macho hero type. I’m curious though, is this the typical state of super heroes in the “evil” universe? I mean, I like that we have Excelsior as a fully fleashed out charactor as opposed to the vaugue Power Boies of the initial podcasts, but aren’t their any supers (hero or villian) that could garner acceptance from Edwin? Do any of the powered use triage? Or is it always that with great power comes great stupidity?

And please, like Ms. Damson, I’d like information on how to make a podcast. Any tips?
It’s been interesting to see the differences between the original podcast episodes and the audio novel.
If you’re ever looking for material I’d be interested to hear any behind-the-scenes|making of stories. I’d love to see a video clip of Patrick narrating the various characters (Edwin, Topper, etc.).
Yeah! Excelsior has saved us all. But can he do it again? And how did he do it?
This entire book seems to be the antithesis of “Superman.” Specifically, reversing the premise that the “Man of Action” (Superman) will always overcome the “Thinking Man” (Lex). However, it also continues to promote a similar set of values by casting Edwin and Excelsior in the same roles as Lex and Supes, but merely subverting the overall outcome.
Besides, I think Lex would be a better ruler than Supes anyway. (Of course, you could for a cleanup crew than Superman.)
Great continuation. specifically the part where he is thinking to himself… What if I don’t save them this time…. Honestly I would of loved to hear a little more internal conflict rather then the almost immediate But he knew he wouldn’t/couldn’t do that.
Also I lost my sense of location when describing the hurricane the first time I listened It just didn’t feel like I was there. The next few times I got the sense of the wind and pressure and loved the description before he reached the hurricane of the sound barrier. But it was only after a few times listening that I was able to convince myself he was in the hurricane despite the good description of the pressure he felt. I’d love to toss a few idea’s around with you but honestly your the expert here any contribution I could offer I wouldn’t even merit a footnote LOL.
Actually, Nathan, that’s not true. I’m good with words, sure, but I’m trying to create an experience in the reader’s head. Which is pretty unknowable territory for me.
I wanted it to be a little disorienting, because he is flying into a hurricane. But feel free to suggest alternatives. I swear, my ego is not going to prevent me from stealing a good idea.
I don’t like Excelsior but I feel sorry for him. I’d like to see him get one over on his handlers.
The pacing and smoothness of these recent chapters has improved over the earlier ones. They flow well.
BTW – Do you have a podcast or post (here or elsewhere) on making podcasts?

Oopsie, I just posted twice. Sorry!

Pray, carry on with the good work Mr. McLean.

I meant: Of course, you could do worse for a cleanup crew than Superman.
