    Once again I find myself trying to laugh silently while wiping tears from my eyes and hoping that my coworkers won’t notice.

    The “unstable system” of truck acceleration was gorgeous. It is also interesting to see the counter-point of the “Git-r-dun” mentality between both Topper and Excelsior. Both occasionally succeed, but neither cares about the process. The difference is that Topper doesn’t care about collateral damage.

    Also, the physics problem set up was superb.

    The one critique I have is that Agnes seems to be hysterical/apoplectic and enjoying it a little too much (at the beginning). It may just be the reading, but it just seems too emotional for Agnes to me. I am not an author, your mileage may vary.

    I’m glad you liked that analogy. It was very stylistic, but it made me laugh.

    As for Agnes, you may be right. But I can also see her secretly enjoying the chase. As close to foxhunting as you can get in the colonies.

    Ah, it’s my first book ;-)
