How to Succeed in Evil by Patrick E. McLean

How to Succeed in Evil is not a self-help page for the maladjusted. It it is the story of Edwin Windsor, Evil Efficiency Consultant. He's like Arthur Anderson for Supervillians.

  1. Ms. Danson says:

Hopefully Excelsior’s super hearing was not turned on for that.

One more step towards doing it (evil) himself.

    • Alan Gains says:

Indeed. Which is, I think, just what we’re all hoping for. :D

Well, I’m gone for a week. Preemptive “hey, that was awesome” (because we all know it will be), patting myself on the back if I was predicting right last chapter, going “eh” if I was wrong, and congratulating Patrick on making perhaps the best story I’ve ever found on the web (one that is actually better than just about anything I own in print).

      So…yeah.

      • Ms. Danson says:

*laugh* You are leaving Patrick with a do-it-your-self-fanboy-squee. :) I agree with you. This has been great fun.

I doubt it will all be over before you get back. After all, we still have the Cromogladon stomping around.

  2. R3u says:

I’m very curious if Excelsior will enjoy golf. Somehow, I kindof suspect he will — large open spaces with enforced rules about quietness, finally something that he can challenge himself at (seeing as golf requires -control- and not just power), and that sortof civilized polite demeanor that we all know Edwin will bring to the game.

If it all goes smoothly and both sides are mature and friendly about it, I can almost see them ending up golfing buddies. Especially if Edwin has time to work his magic, chitchatting with Excelsior and finding weak points to manipulate — because really, isn’t Edwin good at making people happy? Isn’t that (and an expert negociator to deal with the government / help “triage” his disaster list) all Excelsior really needs?

Then there’s what either of those options would do for their reputations…

Very much looking forward to the next few episodes. Thank you for writing this all, Mr. McLean!

    • Josh says:

I disagree. One of Excelsior’s problems is that he is always controlling himself or being controlled. One of the few times we have really seen him at peace is up in the sky, not having to restrain his strength to keep from injuring or destroying other people and property. To be honest, golf is a game all about control, and that is why Edwin picked it.

I agree, though, he will like the quiet, if it is really quiet even when no one is talking.

  3. Akash says:

Excellsior will “blow his shit” and thus leverage will be gained in the trial, which will, as we all know in the depths of our hearts it will.

The ball might even circle the globe and hit him in the back of the head.

  4. Game Arsenal says:

    Спасибо. было очень интересно.

  5. Спасиб .было оч интересно.
